Since 1960, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival has been the meeting place for all animation enthusiasts. It is indeed the perfect place to discover the latest masterpieces of the genre, meet renowned animators and young talents, or spot new trends...
Initially held every two years, this event became annual in 1998. It now takes place every year at the beginning of June, in the city of Annecy.
This festival, which brings together established or emerging animators, directors, producers, and an audience of enthusiasts or newcomers, offers a unique opportunity to dive into the behind-the-scenes of films and discover their secrets of creation.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is a competition of animated films that awards films in the following categories: feature films, short films, commissioned films (productions for television, advertising films, etc.), school and graduation films, and films made for the Internet (since 2002).
In addition to the competing films shown in various cinemas around the city, the festival offers the chance to discover or rediscover animation masterpieces during an open-air nighttime screening.
The festival also includes the Creative Focus, a privileged meeting place for animation professionals and emerging talents, and conferences on the developments in the animation sector.
Finally, an International Animation Film Market, the Mifa, takes place alongside the festival on an exhibition area of over 3000 m2.
The 2024 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival takes place from June 9 to 15, 2024.
On the program: 500 films screened, exhibitions, conferences, debates, and meetings.
In addition to the traditional competition, the festival will feature highly anticipated premieres.
