For over twenty years, the association "Breast Cancer, Let's Talk About It!" has been organizing the Pink October campaign. During one month, various charitable and/or symbolic actions are carried out to inform women and encourage early screening, as well as to advance research.
In over twenty years of existence, October Pink has become a strong annual event in the fight against breast cancer.
This awareness campaign was created by The Breast Cancer, Let's Talk About It! Association so that every October becomes a period of information, awareness, dialogue, and fight against this unfortunately very common cancer.
According to statistics, 1 in 8 women is at risk of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. But there is no inevitability, and every year, early detection saves thousands of lives.
The Pink October campaign is supported by many partners such as the magazine Marie Claire or the cosmetics brand Estée Lauder.
This month of mobilization can take various forms, including organizing information campaigns, conferences, testimonies from women affected by breast cancer, as well as symbolic events such as flash mobs and large balloon releases...
While the program of events is eclectic, they all share common goals:
- raising awareness of breast cancer in the media
- sensitizing women to this risk
- encouraging them to get screened
- collecting funds to improve care and advance research.
Since 2014, the Eiffel Tower has been illuminated in pink to strongly and symbolically launch the October Pink campaign.
This year, the Iron Lady is once again dressed in pink, just like the Montparnasse Tower!
Furthermore, the Breast Cancer, Let's Talk About It! association organizes various events, in Paris and in the provinces.
Throughout the month of October, numerous events will be held all over France to inform women about screening, but also to raise funds for research.
