It has been over 25 years since Harry Potter has been enchanting Muggles of all ages. Pottermania continues to generate an ever more impressive turnover and touches all sectors, including home decor and furnishings. In spring 2023, the brand Fantastic Home launched the first collection of furniture and decorative items under the official Harry Potter license!
A collection made in France under official license.
The "Harry Potter" collection from the brand Fantastic Home is set to make Potterheads around the world swoon. It's worth noting that this is the first collection of furniture and decorative items under an official Harry Potter license.
This furniture and these collectible items, specially designed for fans of the saga, also have the distinction of being 100% made in France! Among the mass of derivative products often manufactured in China, this French production is quite rare and worth mentioning…
A touch of magic in your decor
Thanks to Fantastic Home's Harry Potter collection, Potterheads can now bring the magic of the Wizarding World into their living room.
This interior decor collection, created in partnership with Warner Bros, includes:
• a Hallows bookcase adorned with the Deathly Hallows symbol;
• a Spells dinnerware set decorated with the saga characters' patronuses and the most famous spells from the wizarding world;
• cushions, curtains, and Golden Snitch wallpaper featuring a design inspired by the Golden Snitch.
High-end decorative items
While most merchandise from the saga is made in China, the Harry Potter collection by Fantastic Home highlights French craftsmanship. These limited edition pieces are high-end furniture and accessories, aimed more at art collectors than at average fans.
With a bookcase priced at €7,190 and a dinnerware set at €989, the prices may dampen the enthusiasm of even the most passionate Potterheads. Even the Golden Snitch collection, with its patterns of intertwined golden snitches and clouds, carries high price tags: €119 for cushions, €189 for wallpaper, and €379 for curtains. Each of these accessories is available in two colors, cream white and teal.
The cost of these items is partly due to the global craze for the wizarding world but also their handcrafted production in noble and durable materials.
French craftsmanship takes center stage.
The idea to create a Harry Potter-themed furniture and home decor collection sprouted in Burgundy within the Maringue family. These three siblings, who are fans of J.K. Rowling's series, lead the company Fantastic Home.
Having been immersed in the wizarding world since their teenage years, they had to make a significant investment to work with this license. They also partnered with the best representatives of French artisanal craftsmanship.
For example, the cutlery from the Spells tableware set is made in Thiers from high-quality stainless steel. Their handles, made from a food-grade resin alloy, pay tribute to Hermione Granger's wand. As for the plates in the set, they are crafted in ceramic by Oriane Wilhelm, a designer who graduated from the Paris La Villette School of Architecture.
Finally, if you prefer The Lord of the Rings over the world of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, note that Fantastic Home also offers furniture and items under the official Lord of the Rings license. Will you be tempted by a Bilbo TV stand or by Lorien curtains and cushions?
