Starting Tuesday, March 26, M6 will air the miniseries "Anonymous Brigade" starring Éric Cantona. In this new drama, the former footballer portrays a moving, authentic, and anti-system hero. Here are 5 things to know about this original series.
The M6 channel, which is launching several new productions at the beginning of the year, will unveil from Tuesday, March 26, 2024, an original creation titled "Brigade Anonyme". This is a mini-series in 4 episodes of 52 minutes each.
This crime drama starring Éric Cantona is inspired by a true story, that of the "Disparus Anonymes" (Anonymous Missing). Founded in 2019, this association presents itself as a citizen brigade working to find missing persons.
After playing a solitary detective in the series "Le Voyageur" on France 3, Éric Cantona returns to the small screen in a completely different role. In "Brigade Anonyme," the former football star takes on the role of a brave father with the authenticity he is known for.
His character, Castaneda, is a former outlaw who has now settled down. This big-hearted man raises his daughter Alia alone, never crossing the line again. But he will have to do so when his daughter disappears.
Castaneda, the protagonist of "Brigade Anonyme," hasn't been on the right side of the law for several years. This family man with a troubled past is initially imposing. Yet, he's also a man with a big heart, juggling odd jobs and doing everything he can to straighten out his life. In short, this original crime fiction features a hero who is both tough and tender.
When his daughter goes missing, this extraordinary man takes matters into his own hands and searches for her in his own way. Faced with this tragedy, he can only rely on his heart and his resourcefulness. Disturbed by the response from an understaffed local police station, he decides to investigate with the help of his friend Nass and Charlie, the school supervisor from Alia's high school.
For M6 and for the producer of the series, Victoire d'Aboville, the choice of Éric Cantona for the lead role was obvious: “He was perfect to embody this particular hero, who is both very reassuring and at the same time impressive.”
The mini-series "Brigade Anonyme" on M6 also boasts a five-star cast. Alongside Eric Cantona, viewers will find Arié Elmaleh playing the role of Nass, Marilyn Lima as Charlie, as well as Helena Noguerra, Myriam Boyer, and the young Célia Lebrument portraying Alia Castaneda.
Even though Eric Cantona is captivating in this touching role, the supporting characters are just as believable. These investigators of a new kind, who have no police badges and work from a makeshift HQ, will exert superhuman efforts to find Castaneda's daughter.
Lastly, the series "Brigade anonyme" was entirely filmed in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The first two episodes of M6's new TV series were premiered at Studio 53 in Boulazac, Dordogne, on January 12th. This crime drama starring Éric Cantona was then highly acclaimed by the local audience.
While the first episodes are set to air on M6 on Tuesday, March 26th at 9:10 pm, the creators of this mini-series are just waiting for the audience ratings to decide on its continuation.
