Among the new fictions of the 2024 season, the channel TF1 will broadcast the series Brocéliande starting Monday, September 16. Despite its title, this fiction shot in Brittany is not a fantasy story but a crime drama, with the main character played by singer Nolwenn Leroy. Here are 5 things to know about this TV series made in Brittany.
1- TF1 offers Nolwenn Leroy her first role in a TV series.
Whether or not you are a fan of the singer Nolwenn Leroy, you probably know about her attachment to her native region, as she has often highlighted songs from the traditional Breton repertoire.
So it is not surprising that the channel TF1 offered this artist the main role in the series Brocéliande, filmed in the forest of the same name in Brittany!
By portraying Fanny Legoff, a biologist involved in a mysterious disappearance case, Nolwenn Leroy lands her first role in a TV series.
2- This series has as its main theme a mysterious disappearance.
In the series Brocéliande, Nolwenn Leroy portrays Fanny Legoff, a brilliant biologist who left Brittany and all her loved ones after being suspected in the disappearance of her best friend Laura.
She was indeed with her friend that day, but she remembers nothing. She only recalls waking up in the Brocéliande forest, covered in the missing friend's blood...
Fifteen years after this tragedy, she has built a new life in Paris. However, when she receives a mysterious package containing a sickle covered in dried blood and a letter accusing her once again, she decides to leave the capital and return to Brittany to seek answers about her past. Her return to her hometown does not please the residents, especially since a new disappearance puts her back in the investigators' sights.
3- This fiction highlights the Brocéliande Forest.
As its title suggests, this crime series is set in the famous Brocéliande Forest (also known as the Forest of Paimpont).
The six 52-minute episodes were filmed in Brittany during the spring and summer of 2023, mainly in Paimpont, Beignon, Rennes, and Bourgbarré.
Director Bruno Garcia filmed the famous Paimpont Forest as a character in its own right, paying particular attention to the lighting to add an aura of mystery to this majestic natural setting.
This ensemble series benefits from a great cast.
For her first role in a TV series, Nolwenn Leroy credibly portrays a heroine towards whom all suspicions converge.
In addition to the Breton singer in the lead role, the production of Brocéliande has brought together a beautiful cast. This thriller indeed relies on multiple leads and ramifications, carried by a whole gallery of characters.
In this fiction set against a backdrop of Breton legends, Nolwenn Leroy shares the screen with Marie-Anne Chazel, Thomas Jouannet, Medi Sadoun, Catherine Marchal, Léonie Simaga, Lorànt Deutsch, and Arnaud Binard.

Even though the character of Fanny Legoff, played by Nolwenn Leroy, is a very Cartesian scientist, her rational mind will be confronted with the mysteries of this legendary forest... Her investigation into the disappearance of her best friend will flirt with magic and the Arthurian cycle to the delight of viewers who love local folklore.
After being announced at the beginning of 2024, this new series is finally broadcast on TF1 starting Monday, September 16, 2024, at 9:10 PM.
