The series I promise you returns on TF1 from Monday, January 31 for a season 2 that some critics say is more successful than the first. If you wonder what new things the Gallo family has in store for you in this new season, here are some answers in 5 points.
1- The French adaptation remains faithful to the American original
If you're a fan of the American series This is us, of which Je te promets is the French adaptation, this season 2 won't hold too many surprises.
Indeed, the French version remains very faithful to its American model, while modifying some details of the plot.
Season 2 is highly anticipated by fans as it will notably allow viewers to discover under what circumstances Paul, the patriarch of the Gallo family, died.
2- Heroes embark on new projects
As for the triplets, season 2 of I Promise You will see our heroes embark on new projects, both professionally and personally.
In these never-before-seen episodes, Maud (aka Marilou Berry) will try to make a career in singing, while her brother Mathis (Narcisse Mame) becomes a stay-at-home dad and welcomes Rose, a teenager with a complicated past into the family.
As for Mika (Guillaume Labbé), if he succeeds very well on the professional level with the shooting of his new series, he experiences some setbacks on the heart side and tries to win back his ex-wife Julie.
3- The characters will have new challenges to overcome
In the new season of I Promise You, the Gallo family continues to move us with their tender and complex relationships.
These triplets that viewers have grown attached to will, each in their own way, overcome new trials.
Whether it's changing their professional lives, becoming a parent or battling an addiction, we'll see our favorite heroes chart their course through life, each with their own share of surprises, disappointments and joys.
4- New characters will appear
Season 2 of I Promise You will not only bring us laughter and tears, but also a whole gallery of new characters.
We will of course have the pleasure of finding the performers of season 1 Hugo Becker, Camille Lou, Marilou Berry, Guillaume Labbé, Narcisse Mame, Marc Riso and Léonie Simaga.
But we will also meet :
- the young Rose played by Sandy Afiuni
- Julie (Charlie Bruneau), Michaël's ex-wife and his great love from his youth
- Mélodie played by Noémie Zeitoun.
In addition, this season 2 will give a more important place to the children and teenage versions of the triplets, played by talented young actors...
5- Marilou Berry goes behind the camera
Also new to season 2 of I Promise You, Marilou Berry also went behind the camera to co-direct this season.
As in the second season of This is us, these new episodes promise to go further into humor and emotion.
Get your tissues ready: the new season of I Promise You will air on TF1 on Mondays at 9:10 pm, with two new episodes per night.
