Starting tomorrow, Friday April 14 at 9:10 pm, Mask Singer is making its big comeback on TF1. This new season, still hosted by Camille Combal, promises to be even more crazy than the previous ones and to offer fans of this program their share of surprises! Here's what we know about the new features that await viewers in season 5.
Two new investigators.
The popular masked show on TF1, Mask Singer, returns on Friday, April 14th at 9:10 pm for its fifth season. This season will bring several surprises and new features for viewers, including new members of the jury!
Kev Adams will be the only juror who has been present since the beginning of the show. He is "the boss" on the set like Florent Pagny in the show The Voice! He will be joined by Jeff Panacloc and his inseparable sidekick Jean-Marc, who were already members of the jury in the previous season.
Among the new features of season 5, there are two new investigators. To succeed Chantal Ladesou and Vitaa, TF1 has relied on a duo full of humor and charm: Michèle Bernier and Élodie Frégé.
The production initially thought of them as candidates in previous seasons. But they will finally participate in the show as part of the jury, under the nickname "Sherlock and Holmes."
Regarding her role as an investigator, Michèle Bernier admits that she has completely immersed herself in the game: "It's really unbearable not to find out. We want to know and quickly! It's crazy!"
One suit for two.
With the great return of Mask Singer on Friday evenings in prime time on TF1, viewers are of course expecting to discover a whole gallery of new characters...
Season 5 has 17 participants in the running... in 16 costumes! For the first time in the history of this program, two personalities are hiding in the same costume, and it is one of the great originalities of this new season. This duo will try to keep their identity secret for as long as possible, hiding within a two-humped camel character!
Alongside this exceptional costume, which alone required nearly 1000 hours of work, from tomorrow evening you can discover spectacular and/or endearing characters such as the zebra, the duck, the witch, and the doe, not to mention a very cute alien and caterpillar! Once again this year, the personalities hidden under these costumes will do everything to dazzle you with their amazing performances.
This program, which was the most watched by children under 12 in 2022, is above all a grand entertainment benefiting from carefully choreographed dances and incredible sets. This season, the production sought to create a universe for each personality with even more spectacular staging and augmented reality!
Note that one of the program's participants will be an international celebrity present throughout the competition. Two other international stars will come to sing on the set, but, as in previous seasons, these two guest stars will only sing once and will be unmasked at the end of the show.
A new rule made in France.
Latest innovation in season 5 of Mask Singer, the production has introduced an unprecedented and made in France rule called "le prono d'or" (the golden prediction). From now on, investigators will have the right, once per show, to activate a confetti or kabuki cannon to make a prediction when they are certain about a participant.
They will write the name they think in an envelope under the control of a bailiff. If they are right, this "prono d'or" will allow them to earn 5 points in the investigators' ranking and to share a clue with the viewers.
With this new unprecedented rule, each jury member will have to keep their prediction secret until the end of the season. Unlike what we have seen in previous seasons, jurors who have found the identity of a participant will no longer share with the public the name of the personality hiding under the costume.
However, if a jury member activates the kabuki and is wrong, they no longer have the right to "kabouker" for the entire season. Among the innovations of this season 5 is this funny verb coined for the occasion...
Are you ready to conduct the investigation on Friday night on TF1? With the golden prediction rule, the competition between jury members promises to be more fierce and the suspense will be even more unbearable than before!
