GOT fans have been waiting for it! The Game of Thrones Studio Tour will open its doors to the public on February 4, 2022. The attraction, which is located at the original filming location of the series in Northern Ireland, will transport fans to the heart of Westeros.
Don't miss the good news
Attention fans of the cult series Game of Thrones! Starting February 4, 2022, you can visit the original filming location of the series, in the heart of Linen Mill Studios.
These studios, which are located in Banbridge a Northern Irish town located halfway between Dublin and Belfast, will indeed serve as the setting for the Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
The opening of this attraction dedicated entirely to the Tv series was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. This made fans all the more eager to know its opening date, which was finally unveiled on December 1.
Go behind the scenes of the series
Although all 8 seasons of Game of Thrones were filmed in many countries including Spain and Croatia, the globally successful Tv series has always retained a special connection to Northern Ireland.
The opening of the Game of Thrones Studio Tour is a boon for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, which had already made GOT one of its flagship attractions:
'We welcome the opening of this unique attraction, which will give Game of Thrones fans another reason to plan a trip to Northern Ireland from 2022. Over the past decade, Northern Ireland has welcomed visitors from around the world to the 'real world of Westeros', home to the extraordinary landscapes, coastlines and mountains that have featured in some of the series' most memorable scenes.' said Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland.
This new experience will indeed allow fans to go behind the scenes of the series, to the place where it all began.
It was in the heart of Linen Mills Studios that the series was based, and it was there that certain scenes related to Westeros, Winterfell and King's Landing were shot...
Live an interactive experience of a lifetime
With the opening of Linen Mills Studios to visitors, die-hard GOT fans will be able to enjoy a never-before-seen interactive experience.
Scenes related to Westeros, Winterfell or even King's Landing were shot partly on location in the sumptuous Irish countryside, but also in the studio, in sets created from scratch that you can rediscover on location.
The Game of Thrones Studio Tour promises fans an incredible immersion in the world of the saga as well as exclusive surprises behind the scenes of the series.
