During the holiday season, light festivals and immersive shows are proliferating all over France. The Les Terres de Nataé animal park located in Morbihan offers a unique event in Brittany: the Animals of Light.
The Lands of Nataé, located near Vannes in the Morbihan, are an animal park sanctuary dedicated to the protection of endangered species. More than a year after its opening and thanks to the support of over 200,000 visitors, the park is already supporting six associations working for the conservation of the binturong (or bearcat), Sri Lankan panthers, lemurs, red pandas, large African felines, and Lafresnaye's macaw.
Until January 7, 2024, the park is hosting a festival of lights which is a first in Brittany. As its name suggests, the Festival of Light Animals follows in the same vein as the park and highlights various endangered species.
To better raise awareness among visitors about the protection of endangered animals, the Lands of Nataé invite people of all ages to live an incredible experience at dusk.
Throughout the holiday season and until the beginning of next year, visitors will be able to discover a nearly 1.5 km trail animated and illuminated by more than 50 monumental structures. The Animals of Light are spectacularly lit structures measuring from 2 meters to over 5 meters in height.
During this immersive nocturnal experience lasting about 2 hours, you and your family can discover a wonderful world inhabited by hippos, elephants, and other creatures that must be preserved for future generations.
The Light Show of the Animals of Light complements the visit to the park, which serves as a refuge for over 100 endangered species.
During the day, the Lands of Nataé offer visitors the opportunity to discover very much alive animals. The park is home to representatives of endangered species such as the cotton-top tamarin, the Burmese star tortoise, or the sulphur-crested cockatoo. As night falls, while the residents return to their dens to enjoy the darkness and rest, the park lights up every evening from 6 pm to 9:30 pm until January 7, 2024.
Thanks to this festival of lights, whose motto is "Let's illuminate what we protect," awareness for the protection of animal species continues in a poetic and enchanting form.
A one-of-a-kind experience in Brittany, the Festival of Light Animals can be explored at Les Terres de Nataé park until January 7, 2024.
