On June 6th 1944, the Allies landed on the beaches of Normandy. Every year at the beginning of June, the D-Day Festival commemorates in a festive way the most gigantic military operation in history.
The D-Day Festival, created in 2007 at the initiative of the Bayeux Intercom Tourist Office, is the festive component of the commemorations of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy.
On June 6, 1944, the Bayeux and Bessin region was the scene of the largest military operation in history. Bayeux was the first city liberated in France on June 7, 1944!
To commemorate this event in popular jubilation and to pay tribute to the Allied soldiers, the D-Day Festival offers a set of festive and free events in the mythical area of the D-Day Beaches.
This year, the D-Day Festival will be held from May 28 to June 12, 2022.
Parachuting, parades, concerts, historical re-enactments, fireworks, exhibitions, screenings, etc. The event offers nearly 100 tourist and popular, cultural and festive events.
The D-Day Festival is held from June 1 to 15, 2014 is held on the entire coastal area of the D-Day landing and the Battle of Normandy, from Pegasus Bridge to Sainte-Mère-Eglise including Ouistreham, Arromanches, Pointe du Hoc, and of course the five emblematic sectors Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Gold Beach, Juno Beach and Sword Beach
