At 5 minutes from Nantes by Navibus, the district of Trentemoult, today integrated into the municipality of Rezé, is an old fishing village with an atypical atmosphere. This place, which seems to have come straight out of another era, invites you to take a picturesque stroll along the Loire River.
Just take the Navibus from the Nantes ferry terminal and make the 5-minute crossing to disembark at Trentemoult, a picturesque old fishing village.
This neighborhood, now part of the commune of Rezé, is known for its many colorful façades that line the left bank of the Loire.
The fishermen who used to live in this small village used to coat their houses with the remains of paint intended for the hulls of boats. This tradition has endured and today gives this place a cheerfully bohemian atmosphere.
As soon as you arrive, you will notice on one of the facades an old advertising painting praising the Petit Beurre Lu cookie!

Right next door, the crêperie La Reine Blanche owes its name to the film shot in the area in 1990 by filmmaker Jean-Loup Hubert, who fell under the spell of this neighborhood.
With its colorful houses, Trentemoult is the ideal place for a stroll along the Loire.
Come and lose yourself in its maze of alleys and admire its amazing exotic plants! At the bend of the small streets, it is not rare to cross palm trees and exotic plants brought back from distant countries by the sailors.

This neighborhood with its bohemian atmosphere is the delight of the artists who have made it their home, but also of the people of Nantes who have made it their favorite place to walk.
This 'village' rich in art galleries is also a place to know to come drink a glass by the Loire or to feast on fish and seafood.
Indeed, the quays offer a string of bars and restaurants, where it's nice to have a bite to eat with a great view of the river.
This area is also animated throughout the year by concerts, regattas, an organic market and flea markets.
Did you know that Trentemoult is also the last seaport on the Loire? Visiting its quays and alleys is like going back in time and paying tribute to the local maritime tradition.
This former fishing village keeps the memory of the past of the city of Nantes and its surroundings.

And if this first stroll has charmed you, know that you can leave to discover other old fishing villages scattered in the Pays de Loire.
Going up the estuary, you can discover Paimbœuf which was in the 17th century the outport of Nantes.
In the other direction, the river will lead you to La Patache, another village with picturesque houses located in Maine-et-Loire.
