This year, the famous medieval city of Ile-de-France celebrates Christmas in Provins during the weekend on December 10 and 11, 2022.
The highlight of this festive weekend is of course the 5th edition of the medieval Christmas market animated by troubadours, jugglers and magicians!
Throughout these two days, demonstrating craftsmen will share their passion for the trades of the Middle Ages. This market of the olden days will also continue at night, with a medieval ball, candlelight and fire animations that will transform the Place du Châtel into a magical place!
Not far from there, in the school yard, young princesses and knights will be able to challenge themselves to wooden games, archery or a pony ride...

During the Christmas weekend in Provins, performances will also be given in the collegiate church of Saint-Quiriace by 50 actors from Provins.
This show will tell the life of Saint Francis of Assisi who accompanied his father, a rich Italian clothier to the famous fairs of Provins and who was the first to reenact a representation of the Nativity in 1223 near Greccio.
The second part of the show will take you back to the foundations of the Christian era. No less than 50 actors will participate in this living crib, not to mention the ox, donkey, wolf, sheep, falcon, sheepdogs and camels of the Wise Men! Christmas Songs will bring the Nativity story to life.

Another must-see Christmas event in Provins is the Christmas Village, a craft market where about 40 chalets offer mulled wine, Christmas tea and many other gastronomic specialties. You can also find wooden toys, jewelry and Decorative items to offer...
Santa's chalet and carriage are waiting for you, as well as multiple animations for children (tales, demonstrations and initiation to model making, face painting). But the main attraction will be again this year the ice rink of 200 m².
