The Chamrousse resort in Isère is located just 30 km from Grenoble, the capital of the Alps. Even without a car, it is possible to access it by train to Grenoble and then by shuttle. The Transaltitude shuttle takes about an hour to reach the resort from the Grenoble bus station.
This winter sports resort is easily accessible as it is also about 2 hours from Lyon by car, taking the A48 and A43 motorways.
In addition to being an easily accessible destination, the Chamrousse resort has been certified as a "Famille Plus" since 2017. Its Famille Plus certification was renewed in 2020 and 2023 due to the welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly activities it offers.
On-site, young children can enjoy numerous free activities such as sled races, shows, and a themed trail between Chamrousse 1650 and 1750 to motivate the youngest to hike.
The resort also offers snow-related activities, a leisure center, and equipment loans, including baby beds and strollers.
In addition to the Famille Plus label, the Chamrousse resort was the first in the Isère department to receive the Green Snowflake label in January 2017.
As a reminder, the Green Snowflake rewards the actions of ski resorts in favor of sustainable development. This label is awarded based on 20 criteria, divided into four main themes. It recognizes resorts that have committed to an approach that is ecological, sustainable, and supportive.
For instance, in Chamrousse, a waste collection day is organized every year, and a ski recycling initiative has been implemented.
The Chamrousse resort near Grenoble does not just offer 41 alpine ski slopes located between 1650 and 1750 meters of altitude. It also features 42 km of Nordic skiing, a snowpark, and a toboggan run more than 2 km long.
