Le Génie Des Jardins : Contemporary Art In Parisian Gardens
Le Génie des Jardins is a contemporary art biennial organized by the association Le Génie de la Bastille. This event invites the public to discover the works of contemporary artists in the gardens of the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
An event at the crossroads of art and nature
Le Génie de la Bastille, an association that works to disseminate and defend contemporary art, has been organizing a biennial event called Le Génie des Jardins since 2006.
As its name suggests, this event is held outdoors in gardens, and more precisely in the gardens of the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
On this occasion, the artists go in front of the public. This event thus contributes to bringing art into the public space, with the will to innovate and promote contemporary art in unexpected places.
2021 Edition
Le Génie des Jardins is held in the 11th arrondissement of Paris from 18 to 26 September 2021.
For its 10th edition, this international contemporary art biennial hosts twenty installations and performances around the theme Oasis.
The works presented were selected by a jury for their quality, originality and artistic relevance.
You can discover them for free in different gardens of the 11th arrondissement:
Square de la Roquette, Square Maurice Gardette, the Cour Oasis of the Keller school and Jardin Truillot.
In addition, Le Génie de la Bastille has partnered with the Truillot shared garden to organize a festival Off dedicated to collaborative and amateur art.
