Strawberry Soufflé Omelette: A Spring Dessert

If you have never tried making a sweet omelette, the following recipe might make you want to give it a try. This dessert, which is made with only three ingredients, requires an electric mixer and a good non-stick pan. I invite you to discover the recipe for strawberry soufflé omelette in images.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients needed to prepare a strawberry soufflé omelette for 4 people:

4 eggs (preferably organic and extra fresh).
40 g of sugar.
125 g of strawberries.
20 g of unsalted butter for cooking.
vanilla ice cream or strawberry coulis for serving.

Strawberry preparation

To garnish the strawberry soufflé omelette, you will need approximately 125 g of sliced strawberries.

Note: I recommend buying a bit more and keeping some to decorate this dessert, with small whole strawberries or strawberry slices.

1- Wash the strawberries and then hull them.

2- Cut the strawberries into quarters or halves for the smaller ones. Set aside.

A soufflé omelette is distinguished from a classic omelette by the use of whipped egg whites.

1- Separate the egg whites from the yolks.

2- Place the yolks in a large bowl that will be used to prepare the soufflé omelette.

3- Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer without adding salt.

To prepare the strawberry soufflé omelette, you just need to assemble the various ingredients.

1- Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar.

2- Gently fold in the beaten egg whites using a flexible spatula.

3- Add the 125 g of strawberries cut into quarters and that's it!

Cooking the Strawberry Soufflé Omelette

Cooking is the most delicate step in this strawberry soufflé omelet recipe. To succeed with this dessert and avoid breakage, it is essential to have a quality non-stick pan.

1- Heat 20g of butter over high heat in a medium-sized pan.

2- When the butter foams, gently pour in the previous mixture.

3- Lower the heat and cook the omelet over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Note: before flipping it, check that the first side is well set and golden by gently lifting the soufflé omelet with a spatula.

4- Use a plate to flip the omelet and slide it back into the pan.

5- Cook the strawberry soufflé omelet for about 5 minutes on the other side, checking its color.

Tasting tips

The strawberry soufflé omelette is enjoyed warm.

For extra indulgence, you can serve it with a strawberry coulis and/or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
