The Easiest Chestnut Cake In The World.
If you like cakes with a delicious chestnut taste and recipes that are very quick to prepare, you will love the following cake recipe. This vegan and very indulgent cake is simply the easiest chestnut sponge cake in the world!
Ingredients
Here are the necessary ingredients to prepare a chestnut cake for 4 people:
150g of wheat flour
2 sachets of vanilla sugar
1 teaspoon of baking soda
3 jars of apple and chestnut compote
1 tablespoon of amber rum
5 cl of sunflower oil
1 knob of vegetable margarine for the mold
Note: This cake, which is prepared without eggs or dairy products, is suitable for people following a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Weighing dry ingredients.
The easiest chestnut cake in the world can be prepared in about ten minutes. For simplicity, I recommend weighing the dry ingredients directly into your container using a kitchen scale. In a bowl, mix the flour, vanilla sugar, and a spoonful of baking soda.
Adding the liquid ingredients.
As this chestnut cake does not contain eggs, the dough preparation is particularly quick.
Once you have mixed the dry ingredients, you just have to incorporate the liquid ingredients.
Successively add 300g of apple chestnut compote, a tablespoon of amber rum and 5cl of neutral vegetable oil such as sunflower oil.
Mix well between each addition until you obtain a homogeneous dough with a foamy texture, as shown in the photo below.
Mold selection
To achieve the perfect texture, I recommend pouring the chestnut sponge cake batter into a loaf tin.
Grease the loaf tin with vegetable margarine so that your dessert is 100% vegan, with no animal-origin ingredients.
Spread the batter in the tin by shaking it in all directions. Before baking the cake, I advise you to poke its surface with a wooden skewer so that it rises more evenly and does not form a bump.
Using a loaf tin also allows you to obtain more slices with rather modest proportions for a cake. This cake contains only 150 g of flour and 5 cl of oil but yields enough slices to delight four foodies!
Cake baking.
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Bake the easiest chestnut cake in the world for 35 minutes.
Tasting tips
Let the chestnut cake cool down before unmolding it onto a serving dish.
Wait until the cake is completely cold before slicing it, otherwise it may crumble. This cake truly deserves its name as it is really very tender.
Despite its deliciously soft and even slightly moist texture, this cake can easily be kept for several days... if you haven't devoured it before!
