The Truffle Festival: A Gourmet Event In Colomars

Attention all foodies and lovers of local Nice region flavors: on Saturday, February 8, 2014, the town of Colomars (located 15 minutes from Nice) is hosting its 1st Truffle Festival along with a winter market! This day will celebrate the black diamond of gastronomy, as well as local products. Let yourself be tempted!

A First in Colomars

For the first time in 2014, truffle farmers from department 06, supervised by the departmental truffle farming syndicate of Alpes-Maritimes, will meet in Colomars.

This small town, located just 15 minutes from Nice, will indeed organize its first Truffle Festival! This day dedicated to indulgence will bring together truffle farmers as well as local producers of honey, cheese, olive oil products, jams, cured meats, wines, and other fresh products.

This unprecedented event will promote short supply chains and local productions.

2024 Edition

The Colomars Truffle Festival will be held on February 18, 2024. This day dedicated to truffle farming will be friendly and full of activities.

On the agenda:
- 9 am: opening of the market under the hall with black truffles (Melanosporum), local and seasonal products, and fine groceries
- 10 am and 11 am: outdoor truffle hunting demonstrations with truffle dogs
- 11:45 am: Aperitif offered around the market - symbolic planting of a truffle oak at Fort Casal
- 12:15 pm: tasting of truffle-based products and local products
- 3 pm: conference on the cultivation of the Black Truffle (recreation hall)
- 3:30 pm and 4 pm: truffle hunting demonstration with truffle dogs
