Kisses Around The World
Whether languorous, discreet, or intimate, kisses vary across cultures. Not only do they differ in practice, but their meanings also vary. Here is a brief overview of the most popular types of kisses.
Promoting social connections
No matter the kiss, the only limit to it is that of your imagination. The Kama Sutra has even established several chapters to catalog and explain all these kisses. There are as many kisses as there are customs and countries in the world. That's to say, a lot. The common thread among all the kisses in the world is that they generally promote social bonds between individuals.
French kiss
The "French kiss" or kiss in the French style, is the most well-known of all. Many people engage in it. The partners' tongues touch the lips, and enter into each other's mouths. This very passionate kiss can signify a simple physical desire, as well as romantic feelings.
Russian kiss
In Russia, for men and women alike, a peck on the lips is a common greeting. While this may be surprising, there it's not considered indecent; on the contrary, it represents a sign of harmony, friendship, and sociability. The Russian Kiss is not an "intimate" kiss but a social one.
Eskimo kiss
When it's very cold, only the tip of the nose sticks out, so this kiss is done by rubbing nose against nose. This affectionate practice would allow one to check the good health of their companions in places of extreme cold and to prevent the freezing of certain limbs.
