Balthazar: 5 Things To Know About The Last Season
From Thursday, January 19, Dr. Balthazar is back on TF1 for the final season of the eponymous TV series. For his last tour of duty, the medical examiner, played by Tomer Sisley, promises us even more funny, crazy and moving adventures. Here are 5 things to know about what the episodes of season 5 have in store for us.
1- We find Balthazar on the run
If your memory is good, you may remember that Raphael Balthazar, the hero of the eponymous TF1 series, was suspected to be the author of a series of murders at the end of season 4.
At the beginning of the final season of this TV series, we thus find the famous medical examiner on the run. He has been hiding for four months in Marrakech far from the Parisian tumult and from the police who still believe him guilty and continue his research.
In Paris, Eddy and Fatim are now managing the IML as best they can...
2- The forensic scientist will be back on duty
In his hideout in Morocco and safe from his sociopathic brother Alexandre, Balthazar seems to have finally found serenity.
But this respite will quickly come to an end as the coroner learns through the press that his friends Camille (Constance Labbé), Delgado (Yannig Samot) and Olivia (Caterina Murino) have been dismissed from their jobs after the fiasco of his escape.
Not only is he willing to take any risk for them, but new murders in Paris will force him to come out of hiding.
3- Balthazar has lost none of his talent
Despite the circumstances that forced him to flee, Raphaël Balthazar has lost none of his talent as a forensic scientist and investigator.
In episode 1, he returns to duty and sets out on the trail of the Puppeteer, a serial killer who devises various theatrics for each of his victims.
This introductory episode bodes well for the rest of the final season.
4- Between private life and investigations, Balthazar is on all fronts
In parallel to his investigations, Balthazar shows himself to be as charming and tortured as in the previous seasons.
In his private life, the medical examiner still dialogues with his late love Lise (Pauline Cheviller) and has to compose with fatherhood.
While on the run in Marrakech, Morocco, the unsavory Maya (Leslie Medina) gave birth to their daughter.
5- This last season is a real finale
From the beginning of season 5, the tone is set: the writers wanted to go further into comedy, action and emotion for Balthazar's final investigations!
This season, which promises to be rich in events and emotions, has all the makings of a final bouquet. No doubt that fans will enjoy these 6 episodes before saying goodbye to their favorite coroner!
And if you already miss the actor Tomer Sisley, note that you can also find him in the series Vortex on France 2.
