Drag Race France: 5 Things To Know About Season 3

Drag Race France, the drag queen competition, will return on France 2 starting Friday, May 31. For its third year of broadcast on France Télévisions, this colorful contest promises us surprises and even more fun. Here are 5 things to know about season 3 of the program.

The broadcast of Drag Race France has been moved up.

Last year, season 2 of Drag Race France aired in the summer and concluded in August with Keiona's victory.

This year, the broadcast of this program on France 2 has been moved up to May 31, 2024 due to the Olympic Games... Summer hasn't arrived yet, but this show is expected to bring a very summery breeze of carefree fun to the France Télévisions schedule.

Whether you're a huge fan of this drag queen competition or just curious to discover the concept, don't miss the launch of the contest on Friday, May 31 at 11 PM on France 2!

2- This contest is still orchestrated by Nicky Doll.

Viewers who have followed previous seasons of Drag Race France should not be disoriented this year. As for the presentation, the drag queen competition is still orchestrated by Nicky Doll.

This French drag queen, who herself participated in a similar television contest in the United States in 2020, is a standout in this field. Besides her talent as a professional makeup artist, she has been a muse for brands Thierry Mugler and Jean-Paul Gaultier!

Regarding the contest's jury, viewers will find the indomitable Daphné Bürki and Kiddy Smile. But they will also discover, alongside the host and the DJ, singer Jenifer and stylist Charles de Vilmorin. These two personalities are the guests of the first episode, themed around cabaret.

3- Ten new candidates are in the running.

After a critically acclaimed second season, ten new contestants will take on different challenges each week. The show's premise remains the same, and these challenges provide an opportunity for the queens of French drag to showcase their artistic talents in dance, comedy, singing, as well as makeup and fashion!

The ten artists competing this year are:
• Spanish artist Perseo from the Canary Islands;
• Lyon's Afrodite Amour;
• Reunion Island's queen Norma Bell;
• Dance queen Misty Phoenix;
• Queen Magnetica with surreal looks;
• Marseille's Lula Strega;
• Le Filip, a queen of Parisian nightlife;
• Ruby on the Nail, a lip-sync pro;
• The very glamorous Edeha Noire;
• Leona Winter, whom fans of The Voice discovered and heard during the 8th season of the show in 2019.

Which of these artists will succeed Paloma and Keiona? We will have to wait for the grand finale filmed next July to find out...

Season 3 has new things in store for us.

The bar is set high for season 3 of Drag Race France, as the previous season made a strong impression in France and internationally. This French adaptation was even described as "spectacular" by Fenton Bailey, the executive producer of RuPaul's Drag Race.

But the show does not intend to rest on its laurels! On the contrary, this season 3 will surprise viewers with new features, such as the Nicky Phone. This glittery pink phone can ring at any moment during the show to launch surprise challenges for the contestants.

Meanwhile, fans of this competition will find some challenges that have become iconic, such as Le Talon faible, a parody of The Weakest Link where Lova Ladiva was irresistible last year as Lova Boccolini.

5- The final will be recorded in front of a live audience at the Grand Rex.

In each episode of Drag Race France, two contestants will be up for elimination and one of them will be eliminated.

Starting from May 31, 2024, you can discover a new episode every week, on Fridays at 7 PM on the France.tv platform, and later the same day on France 2 in the late evening.

At the end of this competition, which promises a festival of colors, glitter, and laughter, the grand finale will be filmed in front of a live audience at the Grand Rex. Last year, this event generated a lot of engagement on social media, so the production has decided to hold it in the same venue this year.
