Murder Club: 5 Good Reasons To Watch The M6 Series

Starting Tuesday, October 29, M6 is broadcasting a new series featuring Éric Cantona and Tiphaine Daviot. In Murder Club, the two actors form a striking detective duo, on the trail of a formidable serial killer. Here are 5 good reasons to discover the new crime comedy on Channel Six.

1- For Éric Cantona's new look.

After playing Le Voyageur on France 3, Éric Cantona radically changes his look to portray a new and rather unique investigator character. For this new role, he didn't hesitate to put a gray wig on his head.

In the series Murder Club, to be discovered on M6 from Tuesday, October 29, you will see the former football star like never before! The actor himself chose his look, with long hair and black glasses, inspired by the singer Jim Morrison, of whom he is a fan.

He indeed thought that this style was perfect for his character, a famous fallen profiler who became an alcoholic and addicted to anxiolytics. Regarding this role, Éric Cantona stated in an interview: "This is a character I have never played in a story. [...] I'm often offered the indestructible guy."

2- For the unlikely duo of vigilantes.

But of course, the character played by Éric Cantona, Daniel Hansen, wouldn't be as delightful without his sidekick Amélia Delcourt, a young police officer portrayed by Tiphaine Daviot. The second good reason to watch the series Murder Club on M6 lies in this improbable duo, which at first glance seems full of contrasts, but is not without common points…

Amélia Delcourt and Daniel Hansen are two sidelined investigators who will have to break quite a few rules to catch a formidable serial killer. He is a former profiler turned bestselling author with a unique gift for separating truth from lies in people. She is a police officer just promoted to the criminal brigade but has been removed from the investigation into the infamous murderer named Shakespeare…

When the elusive serial killer resurfaces, the young cop resolves to team up with the fallen profiler who made a mistake a few years earlier. For both characters, this investigation is a way to redeem themselves. Their sense of justice is another common point that brings them together despite their many differences.

3- For immersion into the world of murder clubs.

To successfully conduct their investigation, this unconventional duo will have to infiltrate the world of murder clubs, circles of criminal case enthusiasts. With this series, authors Nathalie Hug and Jérôme Camut wanted to offer viewers an immersion into this unique milieu.

It is often overlooked, but crime enthusiasts have their own clubs and navigate between the world of investigators and that of criminals... The aptly named series Murder Club takes us into this strange universe, where fans seek to understand serial killers, or even satisfy their fascination with these criminals.

4- For the caustic English-style humor.

With such a universe and a serial killer who decapitates his victims, Murder Club could easily descend into a grim atmosphere if humor didn't counterbalance the violence of Shakespeare's murders.

The caustic British humor is another good reason to watch the new crime series on M6. Driven by its main duo and a whole gallery of burlesque characters, this fiction can be defined as a crime comedy.

In this four-episode series of 52 minutes each, viewers will find Catherine Hosmalin, Arielle Dombasle, and Vinnie Dargaud, an actor well known to fans of Scènes de ménages on M6!

5- For the very successful blending of genres.

The last of the 5 good reasons to watch the series Murder Club lies in this very successful mix of genres. The duo formed by Éric Cantona and Tiphaine Daviot brings a good dose of comedy to this crime series.

Caustic humor is never far away and makes Shakespeare's unbearable crimes bearable. In this original fiction, grand guignol humor transforms a sordid story of a decapitating killer into an acidic and hilarious crime comedy.

If you're not immediately put off by a plot that doesn't shy away from severed heads, you'll love this new series with its unique universe. This explosive mix of macabre crimes and eccentric characters can be discovered on M6 starting Tuesday, October 29 at 9:10 PM.
