Visit Los Angeles: The Main Monuments And Museums
Los Angeles, located in southern California on the Pacific coast, embodies the American dream better than any other destination. The city known as 'the city of angels' is indeed the entertainment capital of the world. In addition to its film studios, it is also a city of international cultural influence.

Los Angeles, often referred to by the diminutive L.A., is the second largest city in the United States after New york and one of the best known for its entertainment industry.
Open to the Pacific Ocean with the Santa Monica and San Pedro Bays, this destination also offers mountainous and hilly landscapes with the Santa Monica Mountains and, further north, the San Gabriel Mountains. The city thus benefits from an exceptional geographical location combined with a very sunny climate.
If many neighborhoods of the city reflect the ethnic diversity of the population (such as Little Armenia, Thai Town, Historic Filipinotown, Little Ethiopia or Little Persia), the most famous is undoubtedly Hollywood and its film studios.
The less famous Beverly Hills, synonymous with luxury and celebrity, is an enclave in the city of Los Angeles.
Monuments and sites to visit
The main tourist attractions in Los Angeles are theme parks such as Disneyland or Universal Studios Hollywood.
The city of angels, surmounted by the famous Hollywood sign, is also a movie lover's paradise: don't miss Walking the Hollywood Boulevard in search of your favorite actors' stars on the famous Walk of Fame. It is also possible to get a 'Star Mansion map' to go and see the residence of Hollywood stars from the outside.
A visit to the city also includes a tour of the most famous thoroughfares: the legendary Sunset Boulevard (which stretches for 40 km and is the longest street in Los Angeles!) but also Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue.
Don't forget to take a trip to the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach.
Beautiful museums
Los Angeles isn't just the movie capital of the world. It also owes its cultural influence to its numerous and superb museums.
The LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, is one of the most important cultural centers in the United States. Its collections illustrate the history of art from its origins to the present day. Asian art, Islamic art, American art, European art and photography are represented by exceptional works.
The Getty Center is both the richest museum in L.A. and a massive cultural complex. It has outstanding collections devoted to European painting and decorative arts and several masterpieces (including The Iris painted in 1889 by Van Gogh).
Other museums to see are: the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Museum of Neon Art (MONA), the Norton Simon Museum, the Huntington Library and Art Gallery, the California Science Center, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
