- Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- - 2 tomatoes
- - 2 balls of mozzarella
- - 1 onion
- - A bit of chopped basil
- - Some leaves of Batavia lettuce
- - 8 slices of bacon
- - 3 teaspoons of tapenade
- - 6 slices of country baguette
- - Salt, pepper to taste
- - 4 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar
- - 2 teaspoons of olive oil
Preparation
1. First, slightly slice the base of the tomatoes so they can stabilize in a dish.
2. Cut the tomatoes, mozzarella, and onion into slices about one centimeter thick, ensuring the mozzarella is sliced a bit thinner.
It's important to have the same number of slices for each ingredient.
3. Assemble the tomatoes by alternating a slice of tomato, one of mozzarella, and then onion. On the last layer, season with a bit of salt, pepper, and basil.
Finish with a slice of mozzarella before gently pressing down on the tomatoes.
4. Secure everything with skewers to maintain the structure during cooking.
5. Place the tomatoes in an oven-safe dish and bake at 180°C (thermostat 6) for about 10 minutes, until the mozzarella melts.
6. Fry the slices of bacon in a pan before cutting them into pieces.
7. Serve the salad on two plates, adding the pieces of bacon and the toasts spread with tapenade. Season everything with oil and vinegar.
8. Place the warm tomatoes next to the salad, drizzling them gently with balsamic vinegar.
